Echoes is part of the Symbiosis series, but also one of a pair designed to be framed together. Its companion piece is Between the Crests which shows the same scene 18 years earlier. Loosely, it's about reflection and the futility of looking back, but as I write that, it's not what I'm trying to say. The short story Bungundarra explains the scene best.
